I've been searching for a good study bible for a long time, and I'm picky. I came across this one, and after reading the reviews, I decided to go for it! It is a beautiful bible, it really is! Although it's not genuine leather, it has the feel of leather, and I love it! I also love how it opens flat no matter where you are reading. The study notes are awesome, and seem to read my mind. When I read a scripture, I start asking questions about it in my mind. The very same questions that I have on my mind are the ones that are addressed in the study notes! Awesome! I absolutely love it except for 2 things. One...this needs to be available in large print! The actual scripture is an okay size...not great, but okay, but those study notes and references are even smaller, and very hard to read. The other thing is, I am irritated that Jesus's words are not written in red. This should be standard in all bibles! The very words that Jesus spoke are important and special to a Christian believer, so why aren't they ALWAYS in red in every single bible. Maybe that doesn't bother everybody like it does me. Anyway, I have boxed this bible up a couple of times with the intentions of returning it but I keep getting it back out. I get my little magnifying glass out to read those study notes, and I'm thinking about hi-lighting everything Jesus says. Other than these 2 things, this bible is perfect. As long as I can keep a steady supply of magnifying glass, I'll keep it. I was very excited to use this CBS Bible in my study although i have never used this version before. After i started studying and highlighting using this Bible i realized there were things missing. There is no red lettering which i could live with but was dissapointed (not sure if it said that in the description or not). I was even more dissapointed when in my study i needed to look up The Lord’s Prayer and realized this Bible does not have it all. Not even in the notes. Had i not started highlighting in this Bible i would send it back. Then i started noticing other things missing from the Bible.On a positive note each book starts with “Biblical womanhood” which is interesting to read. Had it not been for that my star rating would have been lower. I would not suggest this Bible to anyone unless they normally read the CBS version.
